  1. I see that you have a Portmeirion Botanic Garden coffee mug--I have most of that pattern myself, and love that mug!

    2. I have that mug too!! I don't think I've ever used it. I have a dish problem and never have enough cupboard space for all them. I have a few pieces of Portmerion but they're all packed away.

    3. Karen K. - Those mugs are the only pieces I use regularly. There's just something about the way they feel in my hand...

  4. Love that we have the same mugs (not the same shape, but the same pattern...) so I will toast you when I make some tea in a minute. Every once in a while I open one of my old book journals at random ... it's always interesting to see what I was reading back when.

  5. I love these updates! I've given up on this meme. This is such a busy time of year for me and it's all I can do to get one or two posts up every week!

I love #8 with your 1998 journal. I think I was reading the same books as you! Pope Joan, Black & Blue, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Cold Mountain. Pope Joan is my fave of all of those.

    #12 - beautiful coffee cup!

#14 - Kate Spade shades! Very cool!!

    1. Les - I love that we were reading the same books in 1998... seems like there was a great crop of novels around that time! The coffee mug is my favorite. And I just took those Kate Spade shades to my BIL so he can put in prescription lenses for me. I want to read in the sun!!

    2. I'm picking up my first pair of bi-focals on Monday. I may have to eventually get some prescription sunglasses, too. At this point, I read on the porch, which is nice and shady.

  6. Which edition of P&P is that? The illustrations are beautiful.

I admit to owning about six different editions myself, including a clothbound Penguin classic, a miniature pocket-sized, and the annotated version by David Shaphard, which is now in a revised edition which I need to buy as well. Sigh.

    1. Karen K. - I think I probably have six of them , too! This one is a leather-bound collector's edition from The Easton Press... my husband bought it for me many years ago.
