My Fall Reading List

Since I had pretty good luck with my summer reading list this year, I decided to go ahead and make one for fall. My reading will be geared toward three event or projects: RIP, Nonfiction November, and our Palliser Party. For the sake of this list, let's say fall lasts until Christmas Eve.

Books I Want to Read This Fall

The Friend by Sigrid Nunez
National Book Award Longlist, on my shelf, current read

by Debby Irving
Nonfiction, current audiobook

The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe
RIP, read-along, Classics Club

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
reread, RIP, read-along, Classics Club

The Duke's Children by Anthony Trollope
Palliser Party, read-along, Classics Club

Nonfiction November

by Kate Moore
Nonfiction November

by Robin DiAngelo
Nonfiction November

Nonfiction November

Have you read any of these books? Will you make a fall reading list?

  2. This is such a great list. Of the books that I have not read I want to read. I am curious what you will think about Mysteries of Uldolpho. Though a bit silly, I thought that it was a lot of fun.

    1. Brian - I'll admit to being a little intimidated by The Mysteries of Udolpho... hope I can get into the language. It's been on my tbr list ever since I first read Northanger Abbey many years ago.

  3. Your reading tastes always amaze and kind of scare me. I want to read more serious books, too! Lol! I think if I make a fall list it would topple over before I even opened my Kindle! Enjoy!

    1. Patty - I'll admit to having unusual reading tastes... seems like I'm game for just about anything. Fall always makes me want to get back to the classics and I've been participating in Nonfiction November for years :)

    1. Vicki - I may put The Friend aside for now. It's well written and thought-provoking, but I'm in the mood for more plot right now.

  8. A fall list is a good idea! But there's quite a few books for me that just sneak into my reading at the last minute during the fall. I just go with the flow. I have read & reviewed (back in April) The Friend ... it's a different kind of story! I liked it but didn't overly love it. Still I liked its observations on writing and death & grieving etc. & of course any book with a dog gets many points.

    1. Susan - Other books will invariable sneak on to my list, but this feels like a good starting point. I may put The Friend aside for now... I'm in the mood for a bit more plot.

  9. Great list. I read Trauma Cleaner. An absolutely amazing tale but some very graphic information and can be confronting but well worth reading the story of this very damaged human who never loses her compassion for others. I loved her.
