The ABC's of Me

Here I am last month at one of the galleries in Santa Fe. It was going use it for a Wordless Wednesday photo, but thought this meme from Molly's blog would be a good post-BBAW introduction.

Available or Married? Married

Best Friend? Sounds corny, but my husband

Cake or Pie? Cake, preferably chocolate!

Drink of Choice? Coffee in the morning; water in the afternoon; wine or tea in the evening

Essential item for everyday use? my laptop

Favorite color? sage green - in a room, it's soothing and relaxing; on me, it makes my hazel eyes look green

Google? Of course...doesn't everyone?

Hometown? moved around a lot when I was younger, but graduated from high school in Canastota, NY

Indulgences? pedicures, books, chocolate

January or February? February - it's shorter, closer to spring, and there's usually a vacation involved!

Kids? Three daughters - 19 and 16 year old twins

Life is incomplete without..... my family

Marriage date? November 30, 1985

Number of siblings? I'm the oldest of six kids. I have 3 sisters (including twins) and 2 brothers.

Oranges or Apples? Apples ...and apple pie, apple crisp, apple bread, apple cider, apple juice

Phobias and Fears? snakes and bats

Quote of the day? Live long, laugh often, love much

Reason to smile? a beautiful sunset over the lake

Season? Fall...the colors, crisp temperatures, sweaters

Tag 3 people? I won't tag anyone, but if you're interested, consider yourself tagged! (Please let me know if you play along)

Unknown fact about me? I left a career in clinical pharmacy fifteen years ago to be home with my daughters...and have never regretted a minute.

Vegetable you hate? Lima beans

Worst habit? impatience, perfectionism...I'm sure my family could list a few more!

X-rays you've had? too many

Your favorite food? fresh bread, or maybe chocolate

Zodiac sign? Cancer

  2. It is great to "see" and get to know you better! I left a career 25 years ago to be a stay at home mom and have never regretted it either.

  3. It's fun to find out more about the person behind the blog - I might have to do this too! I love the Autumn too :)

  4. I think that is the best kind of best friend:) I have enjoyed learning more about you and I couldn't agree with you more about the lima beans.

  6. What fun! My husband is my best friend too & I think it's great! I'm with you on the drinks of choice, can't get through the day without my coffee or water! It's so cool that you have twins, I'm a twin. It's great that you were able to stop working to stay home with your daughters. Apples all the way!

    Wonderful ABCs!

  7. Staci - I wasn't sure about posting the photo, but it did seem to go with the meme. Hurray for best friend husbands!

Nise' - I see so many people on their profile, I figured it was time to post a picture of myself. I feel very lucky to be able to stay home with the girls.

Verity - Autumn is the best! The leaves are really turning here...next sunny day I'll be heading out with the camera.

Book Psmith - Definitely the best kind of friend! Unfortunately he likes lima beans, and I NEVER cook them.

ds - Glad you liked this...play along any time ;-)

Amy - I'm never without my coffee cup in the morning or water bottle in the afternoon! Have always wondered what it would be like to be a twin. My sisters really have a special bond, but my twins are like two kids that just happened to be born at the same time. All three girls are very close, but no real 'twin thing' going on.

  8. I see you love chocolate, too.
Your header picture makes me so jealous!
Fall is totally apple season, love the smell of baking apples

  10. WOW, I guess twins don't necessarily skip a generation. I have always been a stay-at-home-mom by choice. Wouldn't trade the memories. Oh, and fresh bread w/butter is the best!!!

Thanks for letting us in your world.

  11. Lovely photo! You were married one month before we were. Our anniversary is Dec 27, looking back what were we thinking!

  12. Bookmagic - Last night I made apple crisp...the first of the season! So glad fall is here.

Stacybuckeye - Considering it was made of stone, the chair was surprisingly comfortable.

Kim- I'd always though twins skipped a generation, too. Guess I disproved that theory - lol!

Darlene - November 30 was Thanksgiving weekend in 1985, so our guests had a long weekend to travel. My parents anniversary is Dec 28th..they chose the Christmas wedding, too!

  20. I love the photo! I love reading these "ABC's of Me" things! I wouldn't be able to answer half of the questions myself, as my life needs to progress a bit more, but that doesn't ruin the reading!

  21. Madeleine - Guess we'll all just have to wait patiently then ;-)

  22. I don't know how I missed this post last week, but I am sure glad I found it now.

Your picture is GREAT - and I cannot get over how much you look like my good friend here in Kansas.

Now when I read your blog I will not only enjoy the serene lakeside photo, but I will be able to put a face with the name :)

  23. Molly - I figured it was time to put a face to the blog! I posted one shortly after I started, but nobody was reading then ;-) This meme gave me a good excuse.
