On the road again...

We're off to Maine! My husband and I are taking the twins and driving to Maine tomorrow to celebrate the New Year. We'll be staying at the lovely Harraseeket Inn in Freeport...virtually across the street from L.L. Bean. While we do hope to do a little bit of shopping, the real reason for the trip is to support our oldest daughter's basketball team as they compete in a tournament at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. We'll ring in the New Year with a Maine lobster dinner and champagne, then head for home on New Years Day. I'll have some reading resolutions for 2009 when I return. Happy New Year to all!

The beautiful winter lighthouse photo is from concierge.com.

  3. Oh, you are making me homesick for Maine! I love the Harraseeket Inn. I used to live in Portland, as well as Brunswick and Damariscotta. Beautiful area...

  4. Wendy,
I just love Maine...in any season! Did you grow up there?

  5. I actually grew up in New Hampshire (near Concord), but as a young adult I lived in Maine for several years. I also got my physical therapy degree in Maine at The University of New England in Biddeford. I've always loved the state of Maine - its rocky coastline and old homes, and the lakes and forests. It is a gorgeous state.

  6. I just wanted to say thank you for stopping by my blog and posting an enthusiastic comment for audio books. I do think I will give it one more try.

I LOVED reading this post about Maine. We used to live in CT - now transplanted in KS. We enjoy the midwest, but sometimes we really miss the history and setting of New England. Thanks for the nostalgic journey back in time.

  7. Molly,
We lived in CT, too. There's nothing like New England! Glad to hear you'll be giving audiobooks another try - they make me look forward to my time behind the wheel.
