Grilled Peaches with Rosemary & Balsamic Vinegar

It's peach season! The freshest and most delicious peaches around here come from Pennsylvania and this week Wegmans has them displayed front and center. Walk through the door and there they are - you can practically smell them before you're inside! Naturally, I bought a few and began to contemplate a simple dessert.

I'm not baking much these days (seems like we all want to lose a pound or two), but a piece of grilled fruit certainly won't derail any diet plan. I'd recently come across a recipe for Grilled Peaches with Rosemary & Balsamic Vinegar on The Framed Table and decided to give it a try last night. Besides, Jill had already clued me in to the fact that it was National Eat a Peach Day.

I cut the peaches in half, removed the pits, placed them on a grill-rack lightly sprayed with Pam, and cooked them for 5 minutes on medium-high heat.

Flip them over and grill for another 4 minutes.

Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with fresh rosemary.

Drizzle with high-quality balsamic vinegar and enjoy.

A delicious flavor combination!

Have you every grilled fruit? Do you have a favorite recipe or combination?

  1. Well, we think the best peaches are from South Carolina! Gaffney has even made their water tower look like a peach.

    Those grilled peaches look delicious!

  2. Ah, I hate when people who have access to Wegman's remind the rest of us that we don't! :--)

Yes re grilled peach halves - I've seen it done with bourbon, pecans, and topped with ice cream too!

  4. Mmmmm. We did grilled peaches with balsamic reduction a little while ago, but some fresh rosemary from the garden would be an inspired addition next time!

  9. It has never occurred to me to grill fruit but these look so good. As we're still in winter I can think about this for a few months until our peaches come back into season. Hard to think about all the fruit available now in northern hemisphere while ours is still asleep. Enjoy

    1. Pam - That always seems so strange to me, too, when I consider our reversed seasons.

    1. Cat - That was a wonderful flavor combination! Next time I'll try a balsamic reduction instead of straight balsamic vinegar.

  12. Peach season is always too short. I love a juicy peach. We have baked them with honey and vanilla but have not tried grilling them yet. Thanks for the tip on grilling time.

  13. And we here in Pennsylvania love peaches from Maryland! At least my grocery carries peaches from California (not a Wegman's!) and they are always hard! No fruit markets close to us. That should be a pre-requisite when we move I think! Have never tried grilling fruit yours look delish!

    1. Peggy Ann - I never buy the California peaches either. Maybe they need to sit around and ripen for a few days, but I'm never that patient, lol!

  17. Our stores have Colorado peaches, but I haven't had any this summer. Hope to remedy that this week. The only fruit I've ever grilled is pineapple. Yummy!

Hope you have a great week. Our weather has been hot and muggy, but it's not terrible in the shade. I sat on the deck for over six hours today, reading and working on book reviews. I love summer! :)

    1. Les - We've grilled pineapple before and it was delicious! I've also seen recipes for grilled fruit kebobs... may give those a try when the girls are home this weekend.

A day on the deck sounds pretty perfect to me. Last week was unbelievably cool, wet, and cloudy but the last two days have been beautiful. I feel much better being able to go for a walk in the morning. Enjoy the last week of summer :)

  19. Ok weird. I swear I was here and left a comment -- so glad I checked back to get the recipe for tonight's dinner. Anyway, what I said was these sound so wonderful that I decided to pick up extra peaches just to grill. In fact, I did pick up extra peaches and we will be grilling tonight.
