  2. Aren't they beautiful? I never get tired of seeing them, although I think we have more Herons in Florida than people. I saw one riding on the hood of a guy's car once. He didn't want to fly off, he was having fun.

  4. Wow, that's a big bird. So elegant, too. This is a fantastic picture. I haven't been to many places in Florida but I've been to Sanibel and Captiva Islands and I'd be happy to go back to them again and again. I thought they were wonderful.

    1. Amy - Sanibel and Captiva are both so beautiful! We have been visiting for 20+ years, ever since my in-laws purchased a condo on Sanibel.

  5. One of my favorite birds. We have a heronry near our house and I can't wait to see the nursery in full swing again this spring.

  9. It's a rare sight for me to see a heron. These are wonderful pics... esp. that you could catch it taking flight.
