Two More Reasons to Love May

Happy May! We have color, at last, in central New York - flowering trees are blooming, while daffodils, hyacinths, and forsythia add splashes of color to our yards. In a couple of weeks, there will be lilacs. And if that's not enough to make me smile, two of my favorite events are returning this month.

First, Trish is hosting a May edition of Pin It and Do It. You all know I love Pinterest and can never resist this challenge, but this month I'm going to add a new twist. Previously, #PinItDoIt has been all about food and, while there are still plenty of recipes I'd like to try, I'm challenging myself to branch out this time. Maybe a knitting, gardening, or decorating project, or something from my NYC board, or movies, or books... we'll see. Of course, I'll still be cooking and baking, too. All the particulars can be found in Trish's post.

#Estellagram is on again! This bookish photo-a-day challenge is so much fun. March was awesome (I didn't miss a single day), but April was a bust. Maybe those weekly roundup posts in March kept me motivated after all. We'll see what happens in May.

Will you be joining us for either of these challenges?

  1. The spring color seems to have popped overnight! Looking forward to spending more time outside in it. I think I might challenge myself (informally) to do one pin, which would be a milestone for me. (But I don't make the recipes I clip the old-fashioned way, either...) Hope May is a great month for you!

  2. I probably should sign up for the Pin It and Do It challenge. I love looking at everyone's Picture a day posts, but after working my way through the alphabet in April I need a blogging break!

  3. I will not be doing either because my goal for May is to keep my head above water. My daughter keeps telling me that I need to do Pinterest, but I am seriously afraid it would suck away whatever time I have. Someday I will do these types of things.

    1. Sandy - Given your kids ages/activity levels... achieving that goal is truly an accomplishment! I've been there.

  4. I always have the best intentions with Pin It and Do It. We'll see if I get anything done this month.

  5. I'm going to try to remember to do all of the pics for #estellagram this month. I start off ok but forget just a few days in. Funny you're trying to move away from cooking a little for Pin It Do It this time; I'm trying to get back to doing more cooking again!

  8. I'm not on pinterest or instagram, but I wrote and was told it was fine to post estellagram pics on the blog, so I think I'll do it every week. Could you tell me what #25 is? Something for each of those letter??

    1. Nan - I'm glad you're going to do estellagram! I'll probably post mine on Wednesdays this month. I think day 25 - lgtqb - stands for "lesbian gay transgender questioning bisexual"... maybe a photo of a book from that category?
