This sounds great. I just finished Year of Wonders, which I loved, except for the epilogue, which made no sense until I read she used to be a journalist (I think) in the Middle East.

Softdrink - You're right. She was a foreign correspondent with the Wall Street Journal for many years.
ReplyDeleteKim - This is actually one of her older books. It's nonfiction and was published in 1994... before she started writing fiction.
This is a fascinating book...I read it years ago, before anyone had much interest in the middle east. It bears re-reading, I think.
