SOMEDAY....I am going to visit the Cotswalds and walk along the trails, and stay in the quaint bed and breakfasts. I think I will save this photo so that I can look at it periodically and remind myself of that dream.
Could I entice you to write a post about your trip to the Cotswalds? I would love to hear all about it!
Oh, I LOVE the Cotswolds. When I had a work assignment in London years ago, a colleague and I would do fun things on the weekends. One weekend we rented bikes and rode through the Cotswolds, stayed at a little cottage (our rooms came with a housecat) and probably had the best meal of our entire time in England, right there in that little village. The whole thing (with the exception of very tired butt and legs) charmed us silly.
Verity - Next time I get there, I'll look you up... and there will definitely be a next time!
Molly - We took a one day drive through the Cotswolds when we visited London and Bath. Looking at the photos the other day, I wasn't even sure which village this was. So no write-up, but I may post another photo or two.
Sandy - How wonderful!! Next time I want to stay there instead of doing a drive-through.
Stacybuckeye - It does look a lot better than the view here this time of year.
Beth F - Me, too! I really want to get back there one day.
Diane - The villages we visited that day are some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
Softdrink - I think we missed the village with the crooked houses...guess I'll have to go back ;-)
Nymeth - Thanks!
Staci - The photos don't even begin to show how beautiful it really was...
Dar - It really is!
Karen - I didn't want to leave either. I know I'll go back again someday...
It's images like this that turned me into an Anglophile when I was 12. It also helped that Princess Diana came on the scene a year later. What more could a nascent little gay teen ask for.
Ooh - didn't know you'd been to the Cotswolds - just up the road from me in Oxford!

Oh JoAnn, isn't that lovely! Lucky people who call that home, sigh.

ReplyDeleteOh, one of my dreams is to visit places like this! I watch movies sometimes, just so I can luxuriate in the experience of these kinds of images!
ReplyDeleteCottages, flowers, etc.
Gotta love them!
Darlene - I'm already planning a return trip!
ReplyDeleteThomas - That type of image has always appealed to me, too. It was a dream come true to finally visit the Cotswolds!
Laurel-Rain Snow - Maybe you'll visit one day! The stone, cottages, and flowers all all so beautiful!
That is just beautiful!
