Sunday Sentence: The Other Typist

Sunday Sentence, inspired by author David Abrams at The Quivering Pen, is "simply put, the best sentence(s) I've read this past week, presented out of context and without commentary."

"After all, summer was over. It had abandoned us, leaving behind a feeling of dissatisfaction, and taking with it all those too oft unfulfilled beach-day aspirations of a brown-skinned, primitive freedom."

  4. Beautiful! It certainly takes me back to endless childhood days at Priest Lake in North Idaho, where we would tent camp for a week or two at a time.

    1. Lynne - Same here, only not quite so exotic a setting... and definitely no tents ;-)

    1. Les - The next sentence was just as good - "The weather would turn cold before we knew it and drive us back into the cramped and stuffy steam-heated rooms we called civilization." - but has that hint of sadness, too. Glad you had a great trip!

  10. What a terrific sentence. If that's an example of the author's writing, this is a book I definitely want to read soon.

Thank you so much for sharing, JoAnn!
