Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout has won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction! Hurray! I loved Olive Kitteridge and rated it 5/5 when I reviewed it in January. It was my book club's February selection; I wrote about the meeting here. Winners were announced this afternoon. A complete list can be found here.

ReplyDeleteYea you for calling this one! It has been on my TBR list for quite a while, but I just have not made the time to read it. I am now number 16 in line to obtain a copy from my library (although perhaps my the time it is my turn school could be out and I will actually have time to read it)

There are some audiobooks I have appreciated even more because they are read by the author...most recently The Tortilla Curtain by T.C. Boyle.
Now I definitely have to read this one. I read her other books but for some reason haven't gotten to this one.

ReplyDeleteOlive Kitteridge is a series of short stories that paints a picture of life in a small Maine town. They are connected by Olive, a larger-than-life character, who makes an appearance in each one. It is my favorite book so far this year! (Therese Raquin, read for your challenge, is a close second)
...and even if you do live under a rock, I'm sure it's a very nice, book-filled one ;-)
