Wordless Wednesday: More Birds

Instead of my current view, which unfortunately resembles the tundra, here are two more bird photos taken on our recent trip to Florida. Both were taken with my iPhone (I need to pack a camera next time) and have been previously shared on Instagram.

    I've just started keeping a birding life list, so any post with "Birds" in it catches my eye. It's so frustrating to try to take photos of birds with the iPhone. They usually don't let me get close enough to get a decent picture.

    I love these shots of the birds in the surf. I'm headed down to FL on business in a couple of weeks, and hope to see a few species we don't have hear in Colorado!

      JaneGS - These Florida birds are so exotic to my northern eyes! I really need to start bringing my camera along on morning beach walks .The idea of a birding list is very appealing!

    I love all the birds down here. And they just go where they please. We have had ducks show up in our pool, and a whole front yard full of egrets (which made me wonder if I had a bug problem!!!). They are a huge part of our environment down here.

      Sandy - An egret in the road had traffic at a complete standstill... until my daughter's boyfriend hopped out of the car and shooed it away!

    I adore these birds. I would never have a chance to see so many Pelicans here in my neck of the woods. I consider them a rare sighting. And never have I seen an Ibis. Thanks for sharing.

      Arti - I could watch the pelicans for hours! The scene above occurred after they'd eaten and before their retreat to the trees along the beach.

      Pat - The camera on the phone is surprisingly good. I only wish there was a better zoom feature.

    Great photos, even they were from your phone! I love most of what I take, but just bought a camera (we'd gone without for over a year) because sometimes it's just not enough.
