  1. We have one of these in our office kitchen, but the essential requirement is not followed. :) Thanks for my morning laugh.

  2. Twilight and Philip Roth? Most interesting classification. Thanks for sharing this photo that reflects the... shall I say... grassroots sentiments towards the 'literary scene.' ;)

  3. Being that forthright I'm surprised the list is so short! Thanks for the laugh.

  4. So funny! I've never read Roth but I've always wanted to. Maybe I should think twice ;)

  5. Ooh, that's harsh. One readers sh*% is another's great book!

  6. That's funny. Not sure on Philip Roth but I definitely agree with Twilight!

  7. Doesn't look like many are 'exchanging' just taking!

  8. Without the disclaimer I might have thought I was being warned against leaving my copy of "Scats and Tracks of North America: A Field Guide to the Signs of Nearly 150 Wildlife Species."

However, remember the saying about how one person's trash is another person's treasure...

  10. Thanks for the comments - I just knew you were all going to enjoy this! I've only read one book by Philip Roth (American Pastoral) and, while not exactly a fan, don't think I'd put him in the same category as Twilight ;-)

  11. No, I don't think the standards-setter was attempting to classify Roth books as Twilight quality, BUT, he does dither and blather alot about penises from what I understand. I've only read one of his books and was not impressed.
    But what do I know?

    1. Care - I agree with you on Roth. American Pastoral was enough for me...

  13. Lol! I kind of felt this way about the library at the hospital - so many shit books! Thought if I found one I'd like to read and felt like bringing it home to read, I'd just replace it with something else but so many romance novels.

    1. Lisa - I'm so happy you aren't hanging around the hospital any more! Hope your son is continuing his recovery at home.

  15. While I recognize that Roth books aren't shit qualitatively, they are certainly shit to me. What a bore. Except for The Plot Against America. I liked that one.

    1. Thomas - I only read American Pastoral, but that was more than enough Roth for my lifetime!
