E.L.Fay - When I started this, I was absolutely relaxed, pressure-free, unrushed, and unstressed (it was the day after Christmas). When a book starts slow, that makes all the difference!

Well, shoot, I had a hard time with the long sentences and gave up on this a few years back -- maybe I'll try again in the future.

ReplyDeleteWoo! I just visited another blog that posted about Mrs. Dalloway! It's been all over the place lately! It's very similar to Christoper Isherweood's A Single Man, as the book also chronicles one day of the main character. Hope you enjoy! :)

Matt - I think everyone is getting ready for Woolf in Winter. I've finished the book now and, once I got used to the writing style, enjoyed it very much. I may try to squeeze in one more of the Woolf in Winter books.
I need to read that book! In one sentence, an entire relationship is described, an unforgettable image is created, and a particular mysterious atmosphere is evoked.
