My teaser:"The easy elegance of every movement of her limbs and body as soon as she began to advance from the far end of the room, set me in a flutter of expectation to see her face clearly. ReplyDeleteHee, great teaser! I read The Woman in White last October and remember much being made of Marian being an ugly woman, as if women could not be both attractive and intelligent.

ReplyDeleteI have read The Woman in White by Collins. I don't remember these lines. Your teaser made me laugh. The poor lady is "ugly." I shouldn't laugh. I should feel sorry for her.(:

That last line kind of stops you...it is a great choice for a teaser.

If you like this one you'd enjoy Armadale too, there are some simalarly comic moments and interesting females in that.
